Millions of people of all background and from around the world called for community safety and an end to gun violence on March 24 in scores of “March for Our Lives” rallies and social justice events.
The global call from people of various generations, economic status and racial and ethnic backgrounds follows U.S. school shootings over the years, most recently the 17 deaths of students and adults on Feb. 14, 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Participants also called for greater safety, in general, for communities and youth.
Among the millions of people who participated in the movement building rallies on March 24 were youth of color from Community Coalition, a social justice organization in South Los Angeles.
Community Coalition and the youth released this video on March 23 to support the need for safety and progress in schools and neighborhoods – and especially for families.
